I'm an older mum with a younger child, and getting here wasn’t easy - after countless rounds of IVF and hormone treatments, we finally had our beautiful daughter. I thought IVF hormones were tough… then perimenopause hit, then menopause.
No sleep, brain fog (where was I going? What did I need from the pantry? Where are my keys, my phone, my glasses?!), hot flushes, night sweats, a frozen shoulder, tears over everything—you name it. I felt like I was falling apart.
Desperate for rest, I found a sleepwear brand using smart fabric to help with night sweats. It actually helped! I added melatonin, upped my vitamins, began pilates and started HRT and slowly began to feel more like me again. Though I'm not sure I will ever be the same old me, I am actually liking this new older version of me - setting boundaries, trying new things, dancing silly dances and learning to let go of the past and enjoy the future and all that it brings.
Speaking of the future, that sleepwear company I mentioned shut down. So, with zero experience but a lot of passion (and the amazing support of the previous founder, now my mentor and friend), I brought it back to life to help other women who toss and turn, change sheets, pj's and feel exhausted day in day out, Sweet Dreams Sleepwear.
I'm showing my young daughter that it's never too late to try something new. Anything’s possible if you give it a go. And I’m lucky to have a network of amazing women we laugh, cry, support each other through it all.
Women together - we can achieve anything!
